VTC Alumni Making a Difference - Jackie Wong: Passionate designs for beloved pets open up opportunities

Nothing beats raising adorable pets at home for pet lovers. Sometimes ‘fur babies’ are their inspiration when designing products and creating business opportunities. Jackie Wong, HKDI alumna, is passionate about art and design. Since young, she has had close ties with her pet dogs and cats. After graduation, she learnt embroidery herself and made stamps using pet photos, then started an online store named The Moon.K to sell customizing embroidered t-shirts.

Jackie very much enjoyed travelling around with her pets. She designed the half-moon-shaped pet carrier bag for the comfort and privacy of small cats and dogs as well as their owners by applying creative thinking. The bag was widely acclaimed by pet owners, and she earned the Merit Award in Hong Kong Smart Design Awards 2023 for the design. The Moon.K is also actively expanding the market with various types of pet products.

With the determination to design pets-and-owners-oriented products, being self-disciplined and creative, while putting ideas into practice, Jackie believes she will open up more opportunities and gain more achievements in the future.
