Occupation Dictionary: Empowering Your Career Planning

Browsing through Occupation Dictionary (OD), alumni can explore personal career path, obtain practical information, and embark on career planning.

Building on the extensive experience of VTC in conducting manpower surveys for different industries, and referencing the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO), the OD categorises Hong Kong’s major occupations into 12 industry groups. It provides information on hundreds of key positions, including entry requirements, necessary skills and competencies, job responsibilities, as well as promotion pathways, etc. Alumni can flexibly search for interested occupations, gain prior insight into the industry, and utilise assessment to understand their own personalities, abilities and career orientation.

OD is a living document that will be continually updated to address the constant labour market change. New jobs accompanied by relevant education and training opportunities will be included to assist your planning of career roadmap.
