Funded by Alistair Harvey Foundation and The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, academically bright and talented VTC students were awarded scholarships to pursue further education in the United Kingdom continuously. Amid the serious pandemic situation, awardees departed for United Kingdom as planned. While the local epidemic status was eased and the government relieved the social restrictions gradually, 3 VTC alumni, including Shannon, Travis and Chris, who are studying in the UK, were greeted by Ms Agnes Ng, the VTC Alumni Ambassador living in Meopham of Kent, for a 3 days 2 nights homestay event.
The event was held during 25 to 27 March. Ms Ng did the honors to lead the tour around Kent. They visited historic scenic spots, such as the centuries-old cathedral church, and ventured through extensive vineyards and cricket court, along with meals of delicious local cuisine and shopping in car boot sale. They also visited a British couple, who travelled to the Eastern Asia and worked in Hong Kong, Japan etc. during 1970s. It was a lively conversation as they shared their trips together. The homestay event offered a chance for the alumni to experience local British culture, and they expressed heartfelt appreciations to the kind arrangement by VTC and the Alumni Ambassador.
