Funded by Alistair Harvey Foundation Scholarship and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships, academically bright and talented VTC students are given the financial support to pursue further education in the United Kingdom. VTC truly believe that learning does not entirely within the confines of campus. Therefore, we offer the opportunity for scholarship awardees to visit Ms Agnes Ng, the VTC Alumni Ambassador living in Meopham, for a 3 days 2 nights homestay event, to venture into the greenery of the British countryside, as well as to experience the British culture.
In the past year, 6 alumni joined two sessions of 3 days 2 nights homestay events at Ms Ng’s house, during 11 to 13 June and 9 to 11 July. They explored natural scenery of lush valleys and rolling hills, checked out historical castle and cathedral, petted animals from the farm, visited local British family, tried out local cuisine, etc. Expressed by the participants, all these activities enriched their insights of the distinct British history and culture. The warm hospitality provided by Ms Ng created a welcoming and homely atmosphere that made the visit an essential part of their study abroad experience.
